PLAIN CITY, Ohio, June 21, 2006 — 7HO8980 Shadycrest-1 Laudan TOBY-ET, bred by Scott Herber and Mark Miller, Altura, Minn., has been chosen to enter Select Sires’ Program for Genetic Advancement™ (PGA™) sire-sampling system. Based on his outstanding pedigree, TOBY is one of 315 Holstein bulls to enter the program in 2006. In addition to being sampled through PGA cooperator herds, this young sire has been identified as a Super Sampler™. With this designation, TOBY semen is available to all Holstein breeders.

TOBY is sired by Laudan-ET, a European bull with strong values for Productive Life, components and overall Type. His dam, Pine-Shelter Lexus Morty-ET, is scored Very Good (87). TOBY’s grandam, Pine-Shelter Lariat-ET, a Very Good (88) Carol Prelude Mtoto-ET daughter, is a maternal sister to 7HO7218 Pine-Shelter LYLE Vincer-ET. The third dam Lucina Fargo, is Excellent (95-3E). This family consistently ranks near the top of the breed in two strong future markets: Productive Life and cow index for Type.
