PLAIN CITY, Ohio, Nov. 8, 2006 — 7HO8988 Frozenes Talent MAKO-RED, bred by Rick Frozene, Westfield, Wis., has been chosen to enter Select Sires’ Program for Genetic Advancement™ (PGA™) sire-sampling system. Based on his outstanding pedigree, MAKO-RED is one of 315 Holstein bulls to enter the program in 2006. In addition to being sampled through PGA cooperator herds, this young sire has been identified as a Super Sampler™. With these designations, MAKO-RED semen is now available to all Holstein breeders.

MAKO-RED is sired by Ladino Park Talent-Imp-ET. His dam, Sellcrest US Mindy-Red-TW (VG-88-EX-MS), was the All-American Red and White junior 3-year-old in 2004 and reserve All-American Red and White 4-year-old in 2005. She produced a record of 3-7 255d 24,170M 4.6% 1,113F 2.9% 697P. The grandam is Sellcrest M Sweetheart-Red (VG-86-VG-MS). MAKO-RED is a correct, strong bull that is expected to transmit great balance, depth of rib and improved feet and legs.
