CANYON Son to Enter A.I. at Select Sires



PLAIN CITY, Ohio, Feb. 8, 2007 — 7HO9089 Badger Canyon PIERCE-ET*B/R, bred by Larry Meyer, Unity, Wis., has been chosen to enter Select Sires’ Program for Genetic Advancement™ (PGA™) sire-sampling system. Based on his outstanding pedigree, PIERCE is one of 315 Holstein bulls to enter the program in 2006. In addition to being sampled through PGA cooperator herds, this young sire has been identified as a Super Sampler™. With this designation, PIERCE semen is available to all Holstein breeders.

PIERCE is sired by 7HO6753 CANYON-Breeze Storm Atom-ET and is the son of one of 7HO5157 Regancrest Elton DURHAM-ET*CV’s finest daughters, Badger Durham Patsh-1429 (EX-90-EX-MS). She produced a prolific record of 3-0 365d 59,760M 3.3% 1,948F 3.2% 1,934P. The grandam, Badger Mathie Patch-939 (EX-91-EX-MS), produced a record of 4-0 3x 365d 35,420M 3.2% 1,148F 3.1% 1,106P. PIERCE is expected to deliver high and wide rear udders with outstanding milk production.
