PLAIN CITY, Ohio, Mar. 13, 2007
— The Holstein Association USA Inc., Brattleboro, Vt., recently awarded the Gold Medal Sire designation to 7HO7313 Springhill-OH NATHAN-ET and new release 7HO7560 Zimmerview BLITZ JINTX-ET based on their outstanding merits.
The Gold Medal Sire designation is given in recognition of superior type and production of their officially tested and classified offspring. To qualify, bulls must exceed a specified level for Type-Production Index™ (TPI™), have a minimum reliability of 90 percent for their Predicted Transmitting Ability (PTA) for Fat and for Type and they must be free of any recognized undesirable genetic defect.
NATHAN is a 7HO5375 Mara-Thon BW MARSHALL-ET son that specializes in calving ease (7% CE 85% Rel.). At +1679 TPI, NATHAN ranks among Select’s top-20. Topping Select’s lineup for Milk and standing third in the breed at +2,610 (95% Rel.) is BLITZ JINTX. He is the first son of 7HO5708 Fustead Emory BLITZ-ET to surpass his sire for milk production. With 312 daughters in 162 herds, this new release and udder improver (+1.52 UDC 90% Rel.) is highly reliable. BLITZ JINTX is also 8% for Calving Ease (88% Rel.).
