Early MAXIMUS Son Enters A.I. Program at Select Sires



PLAIN CITY, Ohio, Aug. 6, 2007 — 7JE876 DLM Maximus VERNER, bred by Dana Metzger, Rock Rapids, Iowa, has been chosen to enter Select Sires’ Program for Genetic Advancement™ (PGA™) sire-sampling system. Based on his outstanding pedigree, VERNER is one of 40 Jersey bulls to enter the program in 2007. In addition to being sampled through PGA cooperator herds, this young sire has been identified as a Super Sampler™. With this designation, VERNER semen is now available to all Jersey breeders.

Sired by 7JE620 Sunset Canyon MAXIMUS-ET, the breed’s elite component maker, VERNER shows a positive influence in all traits while maintaining a below-breed-average Expected Future Inbreeding (EFI) score of 6.4 percent. His 7JE442 Rock Ella PARAMOUNT-ET dam, Paulo-Bro PMT Venus 703-ET, is scored Very Good (87%) at 1-09. Oregon Mannix Venus (E-92%), VERNER’s granddam, is a tall, powerful cow with a record of 4-05 305d 24,240 5.0% 1,203F 3.6% 883P. VERNER is expected to sire high components and health traits from tall, capacious cows.
