ADVENT-RED Has Red-Hot Success at World Dairy Expo
PLAIN CITY, Ohio, Oct. 12, 2007 — 7HO7872 KHW Kite ADVENT-RED-ET commanded attention at the Grand International Red and White Show at World Dairy Expo, Madison, Wis. His daughters dominated the heifer classes, representing just over a third of the show’s entries. ADVENT-RED daughters won five of the seven heifer classes and had 16 top-five placings. In addition, eight of his daughters placed among the top ten in the milking cow classes.
Judge Lynn Harbaugh selected five heifers as finalists for selection of junior and reserve junior champion. All five were ADVENT-RED daughters. Premier S Adve Treat-Red-ET was named junior champion female after topping the spring yearling heifer class. She is owned by Chris and Jennifer Hill and Richard Green, Thurmont, Md. Reserve junior champion female was the winning summer yearling, Rdmjr Advent-Kelly-Red, owned by Jeffery Butler, North Lewisburg, Ohio. Be-Joly Advent Radiance-Red, owned by Tracy Pollack, Van Dyne, Wis., was named junior champion female of the junior show after placing second in the fall heifer calf class. Lki Mb Advent Regina-Red-ET, owned by Hank Van Exel and Joey Airosa, Lodi, Calif., topped the fall heifer class and L-Maples Advent Sissy-Red won the winter yearling heifer class. She is owned by Tom Lyon and son, Westfield, Wis.
ADVENT-RED daughters certainly impressed in the spring heifer class, where he sired 16 of the 24 entries and the top-8 animals. Starmark Ad Hotstuff-Red-ET, owned by Starmark Farm, Wooster, Ohio, topped the class while Budjon Nitzy Destiny-Red-ET placed second. She is owned by Budjon Farms and Jeremy Nitz, Lomira, Wis.
Winning the junior 3-year-old cow class was Luck-E Advent Kite-Red (VG-88), owned by Carson Kasbergen, Mansfield, Ill. She also placed third in the Red and White Kingsmill Farm II International Futurity class. Blaze-N-Sun Sunny Red-ET (VG-87) was the second place senior 2-year-old cow. She is owned by Rebecca Boop and Dale and Deanna Bendig, Gettysburg, Pa.
Stone-Front Advent-Laverne gained acclaim at the International Holstein Show and the Grand National Junior Holstein Show. She topped the junior 3-year-old cow class in the junior show and placed third in the same class in the open show.
