Select Sires’ Professional Technicians Gather Advanced Training
PLAIN CITY, Ohio, Oct. 30, 2007 — In September, 20 professional technicians from the United States and Germany met for the Annual Technician Conference where they received advanced education in serving Select Sires’ customer-owners.
“Select’s staff of professional technicians fills one of the most important roles within our organization,” said Joel Mergler, vice president of marketing and training for Select Sires. “Producing more pregnant cows is the basis of our operation and our technicians are on the front lines fulfilling that goal every day. National Technician Conference is an excellent occasion to provide them more expertise and give them the opportunity to share ideas with their colleagues.”
The participants received advanced training on the topics of estrus synchronization programs, factors affecting conception, Select RePRO Analysis™, fertility research, communicating with Latin American workers, dairy sire programs and Select's gender SELECTed process.
