A SURPRISE from Alicia Family Enters A.I. at Select Sires



PLAIN CITY, Ohio, Dec. 20, 2007 — 7HO9355 Jauquet-Lang SURPRISE, bred by Jeff Jauquet and Langs Twin Elm Farm Inc., Luxemburg, Wis., has been chosen to enter Select Sires’ Program for Genetic AdvancementTM (PGATM) sire-sampling system. Based on his outstanding pedigree, SURPRISE is one of 330 Holstein bulls to enter the program in 2007. In addition to being sampled through PGA cooperator herds, this young sire has been identified as a Super SamplerTM. With this designation, SURPRISE semen is available to all Holstein breeders.

Pedigrees do not come much deeper than that of SURPRISE. Sired by Picston Shottle-ET, SURPRISE’s dam is BKB Amanda-ET, an Excellent (92-EX-MS) 7HO5157 Regancrest Elton DURHAM-ET*CV daughter out of the incomparable Shoremar S Alicia-ET (EX-97-3E). In addition to show-winning type, this cow family also transmits high components and health traits. Amanda produced over 40,000 pounds of milk with a 5.0 fat test in her second lactation, while two-time All-American Alicia has a lifetime 147,400M 4.3% 6,265F 3.2% 4,734P.
