Special ADVENT-RED Son Enters A.I. at Select Sires

PLAIN CITY, Ohio, July 25, 2008 — 7HO9608 Mer-Gold Adv MIDAS-RED-ET, bred by Nathan and Adam Goldenberg and Tom Mercuro, McGregor, Texas, has been chosen to enter Select Sires Program for Genetic Advancement™ (PGA™) sire-sampling system. Based on his outstanding pedigree, MIDAS-RED is one of 335 Holstein bulls to enter the program in 2008. In addition to being sampled through PGA cooperator herds, this young sire has been identifies as a Super Sampler™. With this designation, MIDAS-RED semen is available to all Holstein breeders.

MIDAS-RED hails from ten generations of Very Good or Excellent dams that have continually proven themselves in the show ring with both his dam and grandam garnishing All-American honors. His maternal line, from the famous Miata family, is a unique culmination of type, production and index not duplicated elsewhere in the breed. A 7HO7872 KHW Kite ADVENT-RED-ET son from Derrwyn Special Missy-Red (VG-89-EX-MS), MIDAS-RED has the type to sire All-American style that is in demand in the Red and White Holstein market today.
