Record Patronage Payout

March 26, 2002 - In the truest sense of a successful cooperative, All West/Select Sires announces the distribution of patronage for 2001 business profits. On Spetember 15, 2002, All West Co-op members will receive their share of the $615,000 in cash being returned in the form of patronage checks. This cash disbursement amounts to 50% of the 2001 profits - the remaining 50% are scheduled to be sent to qualifying members on a five-year rotation. That makes total patronage returned to members based on their 2001 purchases $1,230,000 returned. This is the largest patronage distribution in the 60 year history of the cooperative.

The total patronage returned for 2001 amounts to 12 1/2 cents on the dollar returned to member owners of the cooperative. In other words, for every dollar spent on semen with All West in 2001, 12 1/2% will be returned to the farmer who purchased the semen through the cooperative. The more business they did, the bigger their patronage checks will be. If the producer purchased $1000 worth of semen from All West in 2001, he will get $125 back. Since 1990 well over 10 million dollars in patronage has been returned to coop members at an average of 12% return. Operating in an extremely efficient manner, the Burlington, Washington Co-op has been able to return sizable patronage dividends year after year.

All West/Select Sires began business in 1941 as Skagit County Artificial Breeders and has served customers from Burlington, Washington for the past 60 years and just this past November moved into a brand new facility.
