Krahn joins LCT with a strong foundation in agricultural communications, sustainability initiatives and stakeholder engagement. She brings hands-on experience supporting sustainability programs in both the dairy and beef industries, along with a proven ability to translate complex scientific concepts into compelling, consumer‑focused storytelling.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Gracie to our growing team,” said Mark Johnson, Vice President of Operations, LCT. “She brings a strong educational background in life science communication and a genuine passion for building consumer trust. Her ability to strategically communicate sustainability initiatives will help elevate our producer programs and highlight the value of Certified Sustainable products in the retail marketplace.”
Krahn holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in life sciences communication, along with a certificate in sustainability, from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her academic work emphasizes science communication, mitigating misinformation in the marketplace, and public engagement, skills that align directly with LCT’s mission to bring transparency and credibility to sustainability claims in food systems.
Her recent professional experience includes the Dairy Innovation Hub where she contributed to strategic communications and sustainability‑focused marketing initiatives that supported outreach to dairy farmers, policymakers, and industry partners. She also served as the life sciences and communications project intern for Beef Northwest Feeders. She assisted with the company’s internal five‑year sustainability plan, water quality initiatives, community outreach, employee awareness and education, and developed communication strategies to elevate sustainability efforts within the company." Her involvement with Dairy Cares, Oregon Dairy Women, and the National Agri‑Marketing Association further demonstrates her commitment to agricultural advocacy and community engagement.
Krahn’s expertise in project management, storytelling and sustainability communication will play a key role in expanding the reach and impact of LCT’s beef and dairy certification programs, as well as their consumer-facing retail branded program, Certified Sustainable.
